What's Actually in the Tub

What's Actually in the Tub

The names on the front of the tub, in plain English.

Flip the tub over and you'll find 36 ingredients, most of which nobody has ever said out loud on purpose. Four of them get called out on the front: hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, caffeine, and Mexican Arnica. A few go by different names on the back, so here's a quick translation.

Cosmetic labels use a standard naming system called INCI, which is why plain water shows up as "Water (Aqua)." The list runs roughly from most to least, with the small stuff at the end.

Sodium hyaluronate is hyaluronic acid, or more precisely its salt form. You'll see it on plenty of skin care labels these days. In HydroSport Max, it's there to help skin retain moisture and stay hydrated.

Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is the one you'll never need to pronounce. It's an oil-soluble form of vitamin C, and it's in here to support healthy-looking skin, which beats skin that looks like it lost a fight with a towel.

Caffeine is the one name that doesn't change on the back. It's in here to leave your skin feeling energized.

Heterotheca inuloides flower extract is Mexican Arnica. It's there to soothe the feel of dry skin.

Most of the tub is the base: water and glycerin, with mango seed butter and olive fruit oil in the mix. That's a big part of how it feels. It goes on smooth, sinks in fast, and leaves your skin soft with no grease left on your shirt. There's fragrance in the formula too. You'll find it on the label with everything else, and the full ingredient list is posted on the product page.

The badge on the front says Manufactured in USA with Global Ingredients. It's made here, and some of the ingredients come from other countries.

HydroSport Max was founded by athletes and formulated by a chemical engineer. It's lotion. It soaks in, it won't grease up your shirt, and it doesn't need a TED talk. Fast in. No trace.
